I remember pining after Shenmue in magazines and begging my dad for a Dreamcast when a local store was trying to get rid of their stock for under $100 (he said no).

Years later, I finally have one and am starting to build a collection! As I seek good deals I’ve been researching the Dreamcast’s library and thought I would share some of the fruits of that research with you. I hope it’s useful!

10.) Virtua Fighter 3tb

Released in 1999, the third entry in Sega AM2’s legendary series of 3D fighters sold approximately 370,000 units.

9.) Sega Rally Championship 2

Sega’s sequel brought fast-paced racing action to approximately 410,000 homes in 1999.

8.) Seaman

The cunning, baffling, and powerful Seaman induced approximately 520,000 existential crises in 2000.

7.) SoulCalibur

Approximately 1 million souls burned bright when one of the greatest launch titles ever created ushered in a new console generation in 1999.

6.) NFL 2K1

One of the best-reviewed sports games ever hit approximately 1.09 million Dreamcasts in 2000.

5.) Resident Evil — Code: Veronica

Capcom’s horrific sequel fueled approximately 1.14 million nightmares when it released in 2000.

4.) Shenmue

Mundane and magical in equal measure, the 2000 debut of Sega’s singular saga shipped approximately 1.20 million units.

2.) Crazy Taxi

At a staggering 2.42 million units, if you owned a Dreamcast in its all too brief lifetime you most likely owned a copy of 1999’s Sonic Adventure.
